East Hardy completed one of the most remarkable runs in state tournament history, rallying from a five-run deficit to defeat Madonna 10–7 in 9 innings to win the Class A state championship.

After trailing 5–0 early, East Hardy battled back with a four-run fifth inning before tying the game and forcing extra innings. In the ninth, Dayton Dove delivered a go-ahead two-run single, and Mason Hamilton added an RBI to secure the win.

Hamilton led the Cougars with five RBIs, while Shayne Sisler delivered a clutch relief performance, allowing just two hits over four innings. Evan Hamilton recorded the final outs with the bases loaded to seal the championship.

The victory marked East Hardy’s first state championship since 1987, completing an incredible turnaround after an 8-win regular season.
