The Huntington Highlanders won the inaugural Class AAAA state championship, defeating Cabell Midland 58-49. After a close call in their tournament opener, Huntington used a strong second half to secure the victory. Dionna Gray's offensive surge in the third quarter, coupled with clutch free-throw shooting from Kaitlyn Swann in the fourth, proved decisive. Despite a competitive first half, Cabell Midland struggled to maintain their offensive momentum, particularly in the fourth quarter. LaTahia Jackson, Gray, and Swann each scored 13 points for Huntington, while Imani Hickman contributed 11 rebounds. Jayda Allie led Cabell Midland with 11 points. The Highlanders' victory marked their third state title and first since 2017.
