Webster County completed a historic undefeated season with a 47–40 comeback victory over Parkersburg Catholic to win the Class A state championship.
The Highlanders became the first undefeated Class A boys basketball team in West Virginia since 1987, finishing the season 28–0.
Dorian Groggs led Webster County with 21 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, while Drew Holcomb added 12 points and nine rebounds in the championship win.
After trailing by nine points at halftime, Webster County surged in the second half with strong defense and a dominant fourth quarter to secure the title.
Parkersburg Catholic was led by Ty Sturm with 17 points and Cade Ullman with 10 points in a strong first-half performance.
