Lindsey Ownes, the President and CEO of the economic think tank Groundwork Collaborative, talks about her book "GOUGED: How Americans Are Getting Ripped Off by Some of America's Biggest Companies." She talks about how DoorDash filed a patent for a technology that can tell when you're hangry. The system tracks how fast and frantically you scroll and other variables to predict your "agitation" and how much you'd be willing to pay. Linsey has contacted Walmart about some of their technology they are patenting like the digital pricing on the shelves and also about "Sparky" their AI assistant to that helps shop...carts that have used "Sparky" to gather their shopping have 35% more items in their cart than those people who did not use "Sparky."
