Don Wilson talks about Flood Insurance and where you can get it. If you have a federal loan on your house then you will need the federal flood insurance. If you don't have a loan then you can look for an insurance person who sells flood insurance or you can go without. Going without is what many people do because the price of the insurance has skyrocketed and most people can't afford it. The other thing is the federal flood insurance only goes up to $250,000 coverage so if your house is worth say $500,000 then you may have to get extra flood insurance from another insurance person. If you do get flood insurance make sure it covers your house and any other buildings on your property, plus your belongings.
