Winfield nets 11 triples in 72-63 win over Nitro

Led by Owen Taylor’s sharp shooting, the Winfield Generals secured an impressive 72-63 regional victory over Nitro on the strength of eleven three-pointers. After trailing after the first quarter, Winfield (9-2) exploded for 28 points in the second period, capitalizing on improved rebounding to build a lead they would not relinquish. Taylor finished with a team-high 22 points, sinking five triples, while head coach Travis Tarr praised the young team's collaborative execution and ball movement. Nitro (8-3), led by Ty Stephens' game-high 25 points, managed to cut a double-digit deficit to six late in the fourth quarter, but Winfield successfully closed out their third consecutive win.
