Winfield defeated Herbert Hoover 6-4 in the Class AAA state tournament. Winfield took an early 6-0 lead, with key offensive contributions from Kenlie Zigmond (3-for-4), Emeri Nelson, Brooklyn Cole, and Ava Robinson, all of whom had multiple hits. Mattie Carroll pitched a complete game for Winfield, allowing six hits. Herbert Hoover attempted a comeback in the sixth inning, getting within two runs, but Carroll secured an inning-ending double play. Hannah Shamblin had two hits for Herbert Hoover. Two players, Brooklyn Cole from Winfield and Sadi Wehrle from Herbert Hoover, were ejected in the sixth inning after a collision. Winfield advanced to the winners' bracket final to play Weir, while Herbert Hoover moved to an elimination game against Frankfort.
